As your Resident Dean, I am here to support and advise you through your undergraduate career. I am also your representative to the College's Administrative Board. In addition to serving as your academic dean, I'm a lecturer in Slavic Languages and Literatures focusing on leisure in Russian literature, Russian women writers, European memoirs, and the intersections between History and Literature. I studied Russian and European History at Wellesley College, and earned my Master's and Ph.D. at Duke University. My research focuses on nineteenth-century Russian literary and palace salons, the roles of women in these gatherings, and some of the salon literary creations. Prior to joining Mather I worked as a financial analyst in the Duke Provost's Office supporting new interdisciplinary centers. After three years I decided that I wanted to work more closely with undergraduate education, so I joined the Office of Dean of Trinity College and was responsible for a range of projects related to undergraduate education, curriculum, and advising. At Duke I also taught European history seminars on leisure and consumer cultures, supervised honors theses, and advised freshmen and sophomores. Joining me at Mather are my dogs Giacomo and Callie. |

Bring your administrative and academic questions to my office or just drop in to say hello, pick up forms, discuss art, raid the candy dish, and share whatever is on your mind. Some random bits, breakfast is my favorite meal and I often subconsciously hum when I eat a fantastic concoction. Tell me about your favorite local restaurant and it will make my day!! |
